My wife, Hannah, and I started the Pate Homestead in 2010. We settled onto 5 wooded acres in Twin Lake, MI in the fall of that year and quickly got to work on the house, barn and upkeep on the property. It began simply with a vegetable garden and quickly grew to include fruit trees, berry bushes, horses, chickens, rabbits, goats, and tapping trees for maple syrup. Jon's passion for wood crafts has grown over the years starting with small household items & decor to games to furniture. Hannah and the kids love to collect eggs from the chicken coop, tend to the garden and collect maple sap from the sugarbush.
